This is a detailed photographic rocord of the short-line railroads that once operated in the scenic Crystal River District of Colorado. these railroads ran narrow-gauge and standard-gauge lines, an electric tramway and a little switchbacking line that used a Shay geared engine. Included are views of coking operations, coal mining and the finest marble  quarry in the U.S.A. Featured are 278 photographs, including 45 full-color views, 224 pages.
